No undercover East German agents here, just a "stop" (I Στάση) on pretty Kalithea Square, along the eastern rampart. This cooperative tavern serves tasty cuisine: wild arugula salad, smoked and grilled mackerel, pan-fried oyster mushrooms, Florina peppers with shrimps, Smyrna dumplings with kefalotyri shavings, pork chops with balsamic vinegar... And, to finish, a sweet tart or a Xanthi "Turkish-style" coffee with loukoum. Don't come too late to get a table on the small terrace.

Wonderful place with excellent prices. For two we picked five dishes (different dishes differ in sizes but just ask!) which was around 20 euro. A great experience with tasty flavour combinations across the board. Big recommend.
