This 9-storey luxury hotel is hard to miss: it's the only building along the Paralia. Although its 1971 modernist architecture is a little dated, it's Thessaloniki's best-positioned establishment, in a quiet location with grandiose views over the gulf. Well-equipped rooms, courteous staff, wellness center, heated indoor pool, top-of-the-range restaurant (Salonika), parking with electric hook-ups... If you can't afford it, just try the café by the superb panoramic outdoor pool.
