MUSEUM OF THE FIGHT FOR MACEDONIA
It deals with the highly sensitive subject of the Greek struggle for Macedonia's annexation to Greece, which took place in 1912.
This public museum (Μουσείο Μακεδονικού Αγώνα/Mousio Makedonikou Agona) deals with the struggle for the attachment of Macedonia to Greece, which took place in 1912. A delicate subject, since many of the region's peoples (Turks, Jews, Bulgarians...) did not want this. Quite partisan, the exhibition also focuses on cultural diversity: mannequins with costumes, photos, maps... The building (1881) housed the Greek consulate at the end of the Ottoman period.
