This small museum (Εκκλησιαστικό Μουσείο Ιεράς Μητρόπολης Θεσσαλονίκης/Ekklisiastiko Mousio Ieras Mitropolis Thessalonikis) is located within the palace of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis (bishopric) of Thessaloniki, behind the Cathedral (1914) and the Museum of the Fight for Macedonia. It houses over 200 icons, many of them magnificent, dating from the 14th to the 19th century. The highly "religious" presentation also highlights artistic developments and foreign influences.
