ROUTE SARTI-VOURVOUROU

This 28 km route offers beautiful views. The road winds its way up through a vast pine forest, with a sweeping panorama of the Athos peninsula. The coastline of the Sithonia peninsula, however, is almost invisible, so rugged is the terrain. There are, however, some beautiful beaches below: Platanitsi (7.7 km after Sarti), Kavourotrypes (8.3 km), Robinson Beach (18 km) and Bahia Beach (23 km). The other beaches are often privatized by large, upmarket campsites, and it's best to make a reservation before embarking on their steep slopes.
