Port village on the west coast of Athos with police station and restaurant, boat connections to the south and bus to Karyes.
This port village on the west coast of Athos (Δάφνη) has around 30 permanent inhabitants, a police station, a post office, a restaurant (5.30am-6pm) and a store (icons, wine, honey...). The Agia Anna and Mikra Agia Anna boats depart from here for the southern ports of Simonopetra, Agios Grigorios, Dionysiou, Agios Pavlos, Nea Skiti, Agia Anna, Katounakia, Kafsokalyvia and Megisti Lavra. Dafni is also linked by bus to the village of Karyes and the monastery of Iviron (east coast). The Xiropotamou monastery (2.1 km to the north) can be reached on foot.
