PANAGIA KOUBELIDIKI CHURCH
Small church with frescoes dating from 1260-1280 (strange representation of the Trinity) and 1496.
This small 11th-century church (Ιερός Ναός Παναγίας Κουμπελίδικης) owes its name to its dome(kubbe in Turkish). Outside and in the narthex, frescoes from 1496: portraits of St. Nicholas and St. Menas, great Deisis and scenes from the life of St. John the Baptist. In the nave, frescoes dating from 1260-1280, including a beautiful Dormition of the Virgin and a rare representation of the Trinity featuring God with Christ holding the dove of the Holy Spirit on his chest.
