Mountain refuge at 2,060 m altitude, close to the highest peaks of Olympus. Rustic comfort, simple restaurant..

At an altitude of 2,060 m, this large refuge (Καταφύγιο Σπήλιος Αγαπητός/Katafygio Spilios Agapitos) is the busiest on Olympus. From here starts the 3 km trail to Mount Mytikas, Greece's highest point, at 2,918 m (approx. 3h walk, then return). On-site: restaurant serving mainly pasta, paying tent area, 14 dormitories (bring your own sheets) and well-maintained sanitary facilities. Also known as "Refuge A" or "The Balcony", this was the first mountain refuge in Greece, built in 1930, and expanded several times.

Kalimera

if you are not afraid of 3 hours to 3:30 distance, Prionia (parking) to the refuge, do not hesitate to 2100m and superb views, traditional meal mountain (supply by mules), pleasant light local wine moisturize, clean sleeping, well-organised service, inside the evening sweet warmth thanks to the fire in the fireplaces. (forbidden card games to avoid inside the cries). The refuge is a tower Azizs of nationalities, but no problem language.
A precision: it is not the mountaineer who takes the discount but member of the alpine club. The refuge is very pleasant, the choice of the dishes is small but excellent: the white bean soup is recommended. hiking at the beginning of the refuge are superb if the wind is quiet. will have you there you can cross the chamois. A beautiful hiking at the beginning of the refuge: St Antoine, where very beautiful view over the valley and wild horses.
hello

Refuge always very clean, well-maintained, with a good respect of check-out (there are regular we for several years). Good atmosphere. Accceuillant staff. Always appetising cuisine. Maria and Dionisos will give you a good advice for the various hiking and meteo.possibility to buy some souvenirs, tee shorts, sweet and linen disposable staff, just .et of 1000m slope and 6km... it is ok in 3:00 and magnificent look of the refuge towards the sea or Mitikas.
