PANAGIA DOVRA MONASTERY
Located 6 km northwest of Véria, this monastery houses a relic of St. Luke and a rich museum of Byzantine frescoes and icons.
This male monastery (Ιερά Μονή Παναγίας Δοβρά/Iera Moni Panagias Dovra) houses the ecclesiastical museum of the Véria and Naoussa metropolis: medieval frescoes and icons from abandoned Byzantine churches in the region, liturgical objects and vestments, etc. Founded in the 12th century, the complex was destroyed by the Ottomans in 1822. Gradually rebuilt since 1844, in 2024 it boasts a large new church housing a relic of Saint Luke.
