DRAMA ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM
Small museum housing local finds: sculptures, coins, jewelry, everyday objects, ancient fossils, etc.
This museum (Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο Δράμας/Archaiologiko Mousio Dramas) brings together finds from the surrounding area, including the Aggitis cave. Our favorite objects: a bust of Dionysus (2nd century BC) in the guise of a middle-aged man with a beard, the jawbone of an Anancus arvernensis, a small cousin of the elephant that lived here 3 million years ago, and a 4th-century bronze oil lamp depicting a "Barbarian" taken prisoner.
