AWNING
Banne d'Ordanche, a 1,573 m high peak, offers a panoramic view over the Dordogne valley and the mountains.
If you take the D609, then leave it at the level of the lake to continue the winding ascent which offers very beautiful views, until the car park, it takes 1 hour to walk there and back along the small path - which is relatively steep at the end of the route - you arrive at an orientation table. The banne d'Ordanche (in Auvergnat patois banne means horn) is the remains of a central chimney of an ancient strombolian volcano of 2 million years. From the top of its 1,573 m, this peak offers a panoramic view of the Dordogne valley and the surrounding mountains.
