XENAKIS MUSEUM
Museum of contemporary art dedicated to the Franco-Greek painter and sculptor Constantin Xenakis: 171 works from the 1960s to 2010.
Opening in 2022, this museum of contemporary art (Μουσείο Ξενάκη/Mousio Xenaki) houses 171 works by the Franco-Greek painter and sculptor Constantin Xenakis (1931-2020), donated by the artist to the city. Housed in a former barracks, the collection follows the evolution of Xenakis' work from the 1960s to 2010, in particular his humorous and graphic reflections on semiology, the study of signs and symbols. A passion born of his childhood in Egypt and his love of hieroglyphics and the Greek alphabet.
