VALIA CALDA
This elegant restaurant, whose name means "warm valley" in Aromanian, offers carefully prepared dishes inspired by Wallachian cuisine and the vegetarian cuisine of the Meteora monks: black pork with mushrooms, galotyri (a creamy Thessalian cheese), lamb with pasta, trout carpaccio, gigantes beans with leek, meatballs with nuts or meat... As for drinks, beers from the Plastigga microbrewery in Volos and PGI Meteora wines such as those from the Liakou estate in Gavros, 24 km north of Kalambaka, are served here.
