TSITSANIS MUSEUM
In former Ottoman baths, a museum dedicated to rebetiko master Vassilis Tsitsanis (1915-1984). Beautiful mosque nearby.
Located along the Lithaios River, this municipal museum (Μουσείο Τσιτσάνη/Mousio Tsitsani) is dedicated to bouzouki player and great rebetiko composer Vassilis Tsitsanis (1915-1984), a native of Trikala. Housed in the former Ottoman baths (16th century), which served as a prison (1895-2006), it features the musician's instruments and listening stations for his compositions. Nearby are the Agii Konstantinos kai Eleni church (1886) and the beautiful Osman-Şah mosque (c. 1550) designed by the great architect Mimar Sinan.
