This local produce cooperative (Εσπερίδες) is run by women from Vyzitsa. Founded in 2011 to cope with the crisis, it took its name from the Hesperides, nymphs from Greek mythology who guarded a sacred apple tree. The miniature Pelion apple (firiki Piliou) features prominently among the delicacies on offer here, in the form of glyko tou koutaliou (candied fruit) or jelly. There are also jams, tsitsiravla (wild pistachio leaves in brine for aperitifs), trahanas pasta and more.
