If the interior is not open to the public, Leonard Cohen's house is located in a street that today bears his name. The man whom his Greek neighbours called "Leonardos" died on November 7, 2016, at the age of 82. He had bought the property in the 1960s and lived there for about 40 years. In Hydra, he met his great love and his favourite muse, the Norwegian Marianne Ilhen, to whom the song So Long Marianne is dedicated. It was also here that he wrote the collection of poems Flowers for Hitler and the novel Beautiful Losers.
