Monastery built on the site of an ancient temple of Artemis and enjoying a breathtaking view.
It's pleasant to sit in the shade in the small square in front of the entrance. From the courtyard of the beautiful church overlooking Platis Gialos and Kimolos, the view is breathtaking. A visit to the church is also well worthwhile. Its name means "Virgin of the Mountain". This monastery, built on the site of an ancient temple of Artemis, houses an icon of the Virgin who, according to legend, shed a tear of blood when a Turk tried to tear her with a knife. From the terrace, you can enjoy an admirable view of Platis Yalos.
