Statue of Aphrodite dating from the Hellenistic period, a replica existing in the archaeological museum.
It's just before the catacombs, a small path on your right. It is well indicated. On site, a rusty panel will remind you where the Venus (or Aphrodite) now comes from at the Louvre, a replica of which can be found in the Archaeological Museum of the island. This statue dates from the end of the Hellenistic period. If Aphrodite's arms never found their place, the historical hypothesis suggests that the lady revealed herself with her right arm and held, on the other hand, the apple "symbol of beauty" offered by Paris to the most loyal of goddesses.
