PUY DE PARIOU
An 8,000-year-old volcano in Orcines, culminating at an altitude of 1,120 metres, makes for a pleasant walk.
Its rounded contours have been made world-famous by a major brand of mineral water. The puy de Pariou is a pleasant walk, accessible from a number of starting points. The ascent is easy, via wooden staircases, and can be enjoyed by all the family. Around 8,000 years old, this young volcano rises to an altitude of 1,210 metres. Its crater is the deepest in the Chaîne des Puys, but we don't go down to preserve it. From the summit, the panorama stretches from the Forez mountains to the Combrailles, from the Limagne plain to the Sancy.
