Monastery with beautiful view in Sikinos Chora.
Dating from 1719, this monastery (Μονή της Ζωοδόχου Πηγής) functioned as a refuge when pirate invasions were feared. Abandoned in the 19th century, its ruins stand alongside its pretty chapel, which is still in good condition: you can visit it, which is dedicated to the Virgin and contains a few icons. The view from the monastery is impressive, both of the island itself and of the surrounding area (Santorini is clearly visible). For details of the walks, buy a map on site.
