ORMOS PORT
Old port of Ormos offering grilled fish for lunch at the ouzerie Anthonis.
The port in Athinios Bay (Όρμος Αθηνιός/Ormos Athinios) is the only access to Santorini for large ships, especially ferries and speedboats. Built in 1965 and modernized in 2008, it has connections with Piraeus, Rafina, the Cyclades (almost all inhabited islands), Crete (Heraklion, Rethymnon, Sitia) and the Dodecanese (Karpathos, Rhodes, Kassos, Halki). Locally: KTEL buses with Thira, Karterados, Perissa and Kamari, tourist agencies, ticket sales, cabs, car rental companies, cafés and tavernas.
