An 18th-century "palace" houses a museum on the history of the Venetian Gyzi family and the Catholics of the Cyclades.

This museum (Μουσείο του Μεγάρου Γκύζη/Mousio tou Megarou Gyzi) is housed in the megaron ("palace") built in the 18th century for the wealthy Venetian Ghisi/Gyzi family, who settled in Santorini in 1642, after having been part of the aristocracy of the Duchy of Naxos (1205-1579). The museum retraces the history of this family, Santorini and the Catholics of the Cyclades: antique furniture, paintings, photographs... The Gyzi Megaron cultural center organizes a three-week festival here in August: classical music, opera, jazz..

Small. It contains old maps and photos
It was a private house given to the church by the owner. It contains old maps of Cyclades and Santorini and some prints and photos of the island damaged by the earthquake.do not expect too much however it is 3 euro.

This district is excellent and Megaro Gyzi during our stay we were lucky enough to catch free concert of a Greek singer my girlfriend really appreciated, me I loved the place a little less music alla so I walked me in the small streets of this quarter, the place is rich in culture and marked history of the island.
