PLAKA THERMAL BATHS
Ancient thermal baths built in 1916 on the seafront. Beautiful views from the path that passes by the "Heart of Santorini" rock.
Closed since 1980, these thermal baths (Ιαματικά Λουτρά Πλάκας/Iamatika Loutra Plakas) are located beneath a seaside cliff, in a white building formed of eight vaulted cells. Built in 1916, they were fed by a hot spring with therapeutic properties. Visitors to the spa would alternate between bathing and praying at the Pagania Plaka chapel nestling in the cliff. The path that leads to the chapel passes through the panoramic site of the "Heart of Santorini": a rock with a heart-shaped cavity facing the Agios Nikolaos chapel.
