5 km south of Pothea, the shady beach of Vlychadia is a corner of paradise that hides one of the best tavernas in Kalymnos. The locals say it: they eat mezzedes and small typical dishes as they used to be prepared in the old days. Everything is as fresh as ever, especially the fish. Among the Kalymnian dishes par excellence, don't miss mermezeli (local version of the Greek salad), fila (local version of the dolmades), xtapodokeftedes (octopus balls) and finally spinialo, a surprise from the sea to be discovered.
