That's a restaurant with an astonishing view and super reviews, so me and my hubby decided to have our last date on Kalymnos there. Despite booking in advance, we were offered a table for two facing a corner... so we asked for a change (not really nice to see the wall all the evening). To our surprise, the restaurant wasn't full that night and we could finally sit in a nice place.
The menu: tuna steak was fine, but just fine (we had had a better one many times before); grilled octopus was tough (the waitress said it just happens - when my hubby grills the octopus it is always soft).
Maybe we had just expected too much...
Overall, it's overpriced. There are plenty of restaurants in Kalymnos which offer better food, are more hospitable and good value for money.

The Roasted Lamb was heavenly ????, even though it's primarily a fish restaurant (the fish is quite good as well ????).

Excellent quality food, views and location. We came around sunset time (with reservations which are recommended) and it was gorgeous. Food is good, some portions are large and wished there was more time to come back and try other dishes. Expect more western prices here.

Das teuerste Restaurant auf ganz Kalymnos. Mousaka kostet in den meisten Restaurants zwischen 7 und 10 Euro. In der Aegean Tavern 16 Euro, für eine wirklich kleine Portion. Die Bedienung mussten wir fast anbetteln bestellen zu dürfen. Meiner Meinung nach stimmt das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis absolut nicht.

We went early so had the best view and best care. We chose SD, signed dishes. That was a perfect and very delicious decision. We had just sea food and daily fish recommendation which was Mahi mahi, seasonal and local fish.
Prices are reasonable.

I visited this place again after 4 years. The quality and the atmosphere are still as good as I remember. The view is breathtaking. I would definitely recommend it.

Return visit after 5 years and wondering what happened? I remember this restaurant being outstanding, one notch above all else. Ate here at least 5 times before. But now, while the service was still quite ok (with an exception of dessert that was not offered), the food was at most just OK. Fish was the only dish that was OK, but nothing special. Octopus was gummy and not tasty at all, tuna was overgrilled and dry, side dishes unimaginative. To top it off, we didn't even get any dessert - noone even asked about it. And we visited in normal time, had reservation and the restaurant was not full, so no excuse there. Sadly, there are now better options for better price elsewhere. Too bad...hope quality returna one day.

We have been coming to Kalymnos for five years and this place is our favourite. Incredibly tasty food, beautiful atmosphere & views, and the service is always on point.

Highly recommend the Tuna Tatar, Aegean Salad and any seafood main. Saturdays and Wednesday you get delicious Loukamades Desert for free.

Please never change Aegean Tavern, we love it!

Location and views are worth to go for! Definitely a place to see while in Kalymnos. Do reserve a table beforehand. Gets busy after 7pm and opens for dinner at around 6pm.

Posto carino e curato,personale non troppo organizzato nella gestione delle prenotazioni la prima sera siamo tornati dopo 15 minuti come da loro indicazione e dopo aver atteso altri 10 ci hanno detto che era pieno, abbiamo prenotato e siamo tornati la sera successiva, salse buone, polpo alla grigia ( 19 euro) croccante ma duro, ci sono alternative migliori con servizio e cibo migliore.

Çok keyifli bir mekan, çalışanlar ilgili, manzara çok güzel. Klasik Yunan yemeklerini çok şık sunumlarla ikram ediyorlar, mutlaka gidilmeli.

Εξαιρετικο εστιατόριο.

Έχει ομορφη θέα στην Τελενδο ειδικά την ώρα του ηλιοβασιλεματος.

Το προσωπικό του εστιατορίου είναι πολύ ευγενικό και εξυπηρετικό.

Το φαγητό είναι πολύ νόστιμο, ωραίες γεύσεις και το κοστος είναι αντάξιο της ποιότητας.

Θα το συνιστούσα ανεπιφύλακτα.

"We've been there many times in the last year. Without any doubt the best restaurant in Kalymnos." This was my review from 2022. But after my recent visit in 2023 I must make the following changes:

1. Same friendly staff. Lovely people.
2. Same beautiful sunset view.
3. The food quality has changed. We ordered a whole grilled fish. It was tasteless and dry.
4. Same salad as last year had lost its sense of balance and elegance.

Somehow they lost the love and attention that were the main ingredients of their dishes.

We escaped and we're sad to have lost a favorite place to dine.

I've been coming here for many years and several times every stay. Unfortunately they become worse and worse. The lamb linguine were very oily and the lamb dry and I came especially for this plate, which is now 3€ more expensive than before when it used to be delicious. No, I did not complain to anyone because there almost was no chance to do so because the waiters are very busy and don't really pay attention to the individual guests and I didn't wanna wait even longer. Overrated, better to go the place next door to the right: Avra
