LOUTRA BATHS
Thermal establishment inviting to enjoy the hot and sulfurous waters of Loutra.
Loutra's spa and spa grounds are exquisitely charming, quaint and nostalgic, reminiscent of the old sanatoria of a bygone era. The hot, sulfurous waters of Loutra have been known since antiquity and used for spa treatments. The thermal baths as we see them today were built at the end of the 19th century and reached their peak in the 1930s. They were gradually abandoned, before being recently renovated. Skin, rheumatism and circulation problems are treated in waters ranging from 33°C to 46°C.
You can stay in the high-ceilinged rooms on the upper floor: very simple but very clean, they seem to belong to another era, especially as the spa's residents are often well over 75... Bathrooms and kitchens are shared upstairs: clean and inexpensive. Rooms with a sea view are preferable, of course.
On the first floor, you'll also find a charming café with a young, hippie feel. You can enjoy breakfast, coffee or an aperitif on the terrace overlooking the sea. The dishes are delicious, including fresh salads, savory tarts and other quality mezzedes. It's all very inexpensive and charming. In the evening, live music concerts are sometimes organized. Wifi is available free of charge.
A black pebble beach adjoins the establishment: perfect for cooling off after a thermal bath.
