PALEOKASTRO
Acropolis on the heights of Mandraki with imposing gates, sea and bay view.
Perched on the heights of Mandraki, the acropolis offers you a magnificent panoramic view of the bay and the sea. It is a unique example of an ancient basalt fortification. The walls date back to the 4th century BC. At the time, they were completed with rectangular defensive towers, of which eight examples can still be admired today, and imposing gates, only one of which is still visible. It is a unique site, which you will have to take the time to discover by taking the path that starts from the depths of the village, following the Panaghia river inland.
