APOLLONIATISSES
The "Apolloniatisses" agro-tourism cooperative is a grocery store located in Rhodes. Founded in 2005 by nine women from the village of Apollona, its aim is to promote the local economy by showcasing the region's traditional products. Members of the cooperative use raw materials from the village, such as fruit, honey and olive oil, to make pastries, sourdough bread, jams and liqueurs. They also hand-pick herbs and sell pulses and olives from small producers. Their specialty is melekouni, a traditional Rhodian cake made with sesame seeds and honey. The cooperative's products are handcrafted, without colorants or preservatives. As well as selling their products, they can organize cooking classes in their workshop to discover Greek pastry-making. You can find their products either directly in their workshop in Apollona, or in their store in Analipsi.
