Lindos is a village and archaeological site located on the east coast of the Greek island of Rhodes, in the Dodecanese Islands in the southeast Aegean Sea. It lies around 55 km south of Rhodes city, and its beautiful beaches make it a popular tourist and vacation destination. Lindos is set in a large bay, facing the fishing village and small seaside resort of Haraki. High above the modern town stands the Lindos Acropolis, a natural citadel that was successively fortified by the Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Knights of St. John and Ottomans. This makes the site difficult to excavate and interpret archaeologically. The acropolis offers spectacular views of the surrounding ports and coastline. The Xenones Lindos is a hotel located in Lindos, on the island of Rhodes. From 3:30 pm to 11:00 am and is just 200 meters from the beach.
