Until recently, the road from Armenistis and Nas to the village of Karkinagri, at the southwestern tip of Ikaria, was not easily passable. Now it has been paved with new tarmac and offers splendid views of the entire west coast of the island. It takes about 45 minutes from Nas to reach Karkinagri, its small jetty with a handful of caiques, its two seaside taverns and its two café-bars. A very pleasant end of the world for an excursion through the preserved lands of the west coast.
