TERIADE MUSEUM
Museum with a rich collection of drawings and copies of medieval manuscripts
The imposing Tériade Museum celebrates this native of the island who left the island at 18 for Paris. Tériade or Stratis Eleftheriadis (1897-1983), a publisher and patron, left a rich collection of drawings by Le Corbusier, Picasso, Léger, Chagall, Matisse, Miró and Villon as well as copies of medieval manuscripts and works by the painter Theophilos. These lithographs, etchings, ink drawings, woodblock prints and watercolors are displayed on two floors. An astonishing and uniquely rich collection. The labels and explanations are in French.
