Good observation post to watch the summer migration of birds.
The bay of Kalloni is a privileged destination to study birds, especially at the place called Agia Paraskevi, in the marshes south of Skala Kalloni, where the municipality has erected some observation posts. Visitors come to Lesbos mainly in spring (from the beginning of April to the end of May), to observe the summer migration of birds from Africa, where they have spent the winter, to Europe, where they will breed in spring and summer.
