POTAMIA
The village of Potamia is located a few kilometers south of Panaghia. Less touristy but less charming than its neighbor, the village houses an interesting museum, dedicated to the sculptor Polygnotos Vagis (1892-1965), a famous local child who emigrated to the USA in 1911. His works are exhibited at the MOMA in New York, but a visit to this museum will allow you to discover his work. From Potamia, a footpath climbs to the top of Mount Ypsario, which rises to more than 1,200 meters (count 3 hours AR, moderate difficulty). Below, the sandy beach of Skala Potamias.
