ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM
Archaeological museum exhibiting objects from the excavations of the cave of Loizos and Pilikata.
A small, free museum well worth a visit... Most of the finds here come from the Loizos and Pilikata caves excavated by the British Archaeological School in Athens. It contains a fine collection of vases and votive objects from the Mycenaean period. The most important showcases include bronze objects (9th-8th c. BC), a ceramic plate (7th c. BC) and, above all, fragments of a clay mask (1st or 2nd c.) inscribed with a prayer to Ulysses.
