CHURCH OF YPAPANTIS
Church lost in the middle of the nature realized in 1909 by an artist corfiote.
Lost in the middle of nature, the church of Ypapantis is painted in orange and ochre, and stands out among the green scrub of a magnificent olive grove. It is one of the most beautiful and oldest churches in Paxos. It was built in 1601 by two brothers, Adam and Vassilis. It is a two-aisle church with a magnificent marble iconostasis made in 1909 by a Corfu artist. This church is well worth a visit, especially for the magnificent view it offers. The church also became the seat of the bishop of Paxos in 1818.
