The ratings and reviews below reflect the subjective opinions of members and not the opinion of The Little Witty.
The positives:
Extremally clean. We could not fault the cleanliness of all areas of the property, and thankfully for an island holiday, not an insect or cockroach to be found!
The staff are very friendly and helpful; they work and do their utmost to make things run as smoothly as possible.
The property is easily accessible from the local village, capital town and airport.
The negatives:
The beds are terrible and the room is surrounded by noise! We we stayed in room 116, which is in the back corner, of the second building - next to the stairwell & lift. This resulted in not being able to use our room terrace as it was on a very busy walk-way so no privacy or relaxation as we were in shade the entire time. Also, the area has two types of tile flooring, which means that when the laundry delivery and cleaning staff are moving around at 6am onwards, you hear what sounds like a train passing through the room every morning.
If the noise doesn't wake you, the bed(s) certainly will. The setup felt like you were sleeping directly on a divan with no mattress. I'm used to a firm mattress, but this was ridiculous!
The entertainment was awful - we arrived on 30th September for a week, leaving 7th October and were repeatedly told by many establishments that it was the "end of season"; we were aware of this before traveling and have been to may resorts around this time of year and expect things to be 'winding down' on par with this time of year. However, with plenty of guests arriving daily throughout our stay, there was still life on the island that needed entertaining. Sadly, our stripped back entertainment program (3 nights out of 7) made us have to seek out and spend additional money, on top of our all inclusive package, for entertainment. It was also very disappointing that the pool table was 2 euro a game, making it extremally expensive.
The 'all inclusive package' is not as wide as other locations; many usual options such as martini/vermouth and apperol/bitters were excluded and the quality of beer was really not good. Unlike other resorts we've visited, the food and drink offering was not readily available, (limited times and offerings,) nor of a quality we would expect.
Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and I cannot rate the staff highly enough, but the property is very dated, and in need of aesthetic and quality improvement
Iedere dag schone handdoeken
Lifeguard aanwezig. Parkeergelegenheid is aanwezig.
Negatieve punten:
I had read the reviews prior to travelling and felt prepared for what to expect in regards to the distance from the beach , food , rooms etc..
We travelled as a family of four, with 2 boys aged 11 & 14 and enjoyed our stay. All of the staff were so welcoming from the moment we arrived, throughout our visit and during stressful last day when our flights were cancelled and we were accommodated for an extra day/night. Reception were so friendly, always on hand to advise and a take the time to chat generally.
Our room was a 2 bedroom family room, 108. It was very spacious looking out to the pool. The only thoughts I'd suggest to management are places / hooks need to be around for the bath towels and also for laundry on the balconies. We were ground floor and nowhere really to hang up swim shorts etc at the end of the day. Not the end of the world, just a suggestion.
The food, many people mention in these reviews. The food that was on offer each night, we enjoyed every meal. There wasn't a huge variety like in some of the bigger hotels but still, good quality. It was a variety each day and no complaints from the four of us.
The entertainment for me is where the hotel lacked. There wasn't any daytime entertainment to get the kids up and involved. The nighttime entertainment could be much better. The Greek night on Wednesdays is probably the best night.
The walk to the beach/town if you like to walk, and the heat isn't too much is ok. Around 20 minutes ish where you'll pass lots of bars, restaurants and shops. Alternatively you can take the small shuttle bus (van) which operated a few times each day and literally takes a few minutes. At the beach , there is watersports which the kids loved
All in all we had a great week in Tsilvili. As we arrived the locals were celebrating St Dennis day over 3 days. Zante town was very busy due to this holiday, but nice to see.
We booked the shipwreck boat tour, which was a great half day out. Also the water village waterpark, again was another fun day.
The boys made lovely friends, and we too met some amazing people staying at this hotel. A wonderful week with fond memories for all.
Thank you Filoxenia!
