ALONISSOS MUSEUM
Private museum with local artworks and exhibitions on piracy and navigation
In an unbreakable stone building above the west side of the port, the Alonissos Private Museum is full of local works of art, traditional costumes, reconstructed interiors, wartime memorabilia, wine making equipment and exhibitions on piracy and shipping. In particular, visitors will be able to get an idea of what life in Alonissos looked like before the 1965 earthquake that destroyed most of the buildings in the old town. The first floor has been interested in pirates and wars since 1821.
