CHORA ET KASTRO
Go there and contact
In these tortuous alleys of mixed architecture, one climbs blindly, guided by the smell of incense that mingles with that of jasmine. And, without even wanting to, you end up almost naturally at the kastro, the oldest part of the city, perched to the north. There, the remains of a Venetian fortress (13th century) are still visible on the site of the walls built by Philip II of Macedonia on the site of the ancient city of Peparithos. At its feet, the inevitable church Panagitsa tou Pyrgou dominates the port of its immaculate whiteness.
