Museum with works by Canarian painters and sculptors and new temporary exhibitions
In this former Franciscan cloister, the Museo de Bellas Artes exhibits works by 20th-century Canarian painters and sculptors. There are also a number of works on loan from the Prado, the highlights of which are San José de Ribeira, Retrato de Isabel II by Frederico de Madrazo and Retrato de Fernando Viscai by Joaquim Sorolla. Fans of Flemish and Dutch paintings will find Orfeo by Bruegel, and Triptico de Nava y Grimon by Peter Coeck. The first floor room hosts new temporary exhibitions every month.
