CANDELARIA PLAZA
In the center of the square with a sculpture in Carrara marble and not far from a church restored in the baroque style
At the center of the square is the Triunfo de la Candelaria, a monument sculpted in 1778 by the Italian Antonio Canova. The sculpture is in Carrara marble. Nearby is the Church of San Francisco, built in the late 17th century and restored in the 18th century in the Baroque style. Renovation work on the Palais de Carta, an 18th-century jewel, led to its opening in April 2023. It is now home to the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Tourist Office and will eventually become the town's history museum.
