Constitutive festival of the city with a solemn mass followed by a procession with the Cruz de Plata, the silver cross, amidst explosions of thundering firecrackers and fireworks. Tradition dictates that in the afternoon one should visit the numerous chapels dedicated to the Holy Cross, about thirty in all spread throughout the town, to admire the floral decorations. The fiesta also takes place in Santa Cruz with dozens of crosses placed on the ramblas and in Realejos which organizes a very big fireworks show lasting more than 3 hours.
