CHURCH AND CONVENT OF SANTO DOMINGO
Church with a baroque-style convent and a museum of Ibero-American crafts with 7,000 of the most varied objects
Erected in the 17th century, the church is located on the former hermitage of San Benito Abad. Its tower, together with that of the Church of La Concepción, make up the most emblematic complex in the historic centre of La Orotava. Inside, a beautiful painting of the Virgen de la Consolación from the 16th century should be noted. The Baroque convent houses the Museum of Ibero-American Handicrafts, which contains some 7,000 objects of the most varied kind, such as Ibero-American ceramics and musical instruments.
