Square with a dragon tree next to it, a convent, a church and many merchants
It is the heart of the historic centre, with the plaza de la iglesia adjoining it. Founded in the sixteenth century, the city preserves from that time some patrician houses such as the Casa de los Cáceres and old churches such as the Church of San Marco, located next to the Dragon Tree, and the Convent of San Francisco, a little later and dating from 1641. The church of San Augustin dates from the second half of the 16th century. Around the square, many shopkeepers will offer you tastings of local wines, liqueurs, cheeses and other delicacies.
