CLOCK TOWER
An octagonal tower in Riom bearing the clock and salamander, with a superb panoramic view of the town and surrounding area.
A former belfry and symbol of communal freedoms, the tower was built at the end of the 14thcentury . The medieval part serves as the base for the octagonal tower built during the Renaissance, which bears the clock and the salamander, emblem of King François I. Home to Riom's Pays d'art et d'histoire, it has recently been restored. To mark the occasion, new exhibits on Riom and the surrounding area have been added, including scale models and a plan-relief of the old town. After climbing 128 steps, discover the superb panorama of the city and its surroundings.
