CASA DE COLÓN
Canarian house where Christopher Columbus stayed when he stopped in La Gomera in 1492, known as Casa del Conde
It was here that Christopher Columbus stayed when he stopped in La Gomera in 1492. It is located in the town centre, the villa, grouping the 17th century houses of San Sebastian de la Gomera. The house is typically Canarian, from the beginning of the colonization. It is known as the Casa del Conde, because this is where the Count of La Gomera lived. The museum does not really talk about his expedition, but on the ground floor you will find an exhibition of Peruvian and pre-Columbian ceramics and on the first floor interesting temporary exhibitions.
