Open-air ecomuseum, cave and recovery center for giant lizards in the Gulf Valley, at the foot of the Risco de Tibataje.

Located in the Gulf valley, at the foot of the Risco de Tibataje, this site groups three types of visits. First of all, that of the Guinea Ecomuseum, an open-air ecomuseum. The guided tour passes through the ruins of a Guanche village of fifteen houses that have been rebuilt, arranged and decorated according to the model of the aborigines. Four reproductions of houses from different periods can be visited in greater detail with a guide who will explain the way of life of the Herreños, between the 17th and 20th centuries. A way of understanding the role of volcanic stone in the popular architecture of the island, which with its traditional ways of cultivation are today important testimonies of the history of the island. At the same place, but in the context of another visit, independent of the previous one, we will be able to visit the volcanic tube of Guinea. Which will allow us to learn more about the geology of El Hierro. Visits to this cave are also guided and take place at the same times as the previous one (tickets at the same ticket office). The Guinea Ecomuseum also houses the recovery centre for the giant lizard of El Hierro, about 20 centimetres (galliota simonyi). Ranked as the most endangered reptile in Europe and among the five most endangered in the world. It was thought to be extinct until 1974, but a shepherd discovered a few specimens in the Fuga de Gorreta, which led to a re-introduction plan, the result of which can be seen during the visit.
