AGOUX ROCK
La Roche-d'Agoux is built on the slopes of a rocky outcrop with an astonishing whitish hue
The choice of name for this village is totally appropriate! La Roche-d'Agoux stretches along the slopes of a rocky outcrop with an astonishing whitish hue, characteristic of milky quartz, making it a popular stopover in the Combrailles region. This elevation reaches some 730 metres above sea level. A staircase guides visitors up to the top of the rock. This spectacular rock once served as the base for a medieval castle, now long gone, and is also known as Château Banu.
