NESTOR MUSEUM
Museum in a neocanadian style exhibiting more than 100 pieces of the Canarian painter Néstor Martín-Fernandez de la Torre
Opened in 1956, this museum is dedicated to the Canary Islands painter Néstor Martín-Fernandez de la Torre (1887-1938), one of the greatest painters of the Spanish symbolist movement. The museum's ten rooms display more than 100 pieces: portraits, landscapes, drawings, sketches, handicrafts, architectural projects, theatre creations, and his major work, El poema del Atlántico. This museum is part of the "Pueblo Canario", an architectural project carried out by the artist's brother, in a style known as "neocanarian".
