Canarian village with a chapel built by Majorcan monks with a patio and a modernist museum

It was built by the de la Torre brothers, more than 4 km north of the cathedral, at the entrance to the Ciudad Jardín residential district, around a large beach with green spaces for dancing. The architect based this Canarian village on his brother's watercolours in 1939, a year after the latter's death. The painter wished to rediscover traditional Canarian architecture in all its diversity. The Santa Catalina chapel, built by Majorcan monks in the 16th century, overlooks the patio. This modernist museum is a showcase for Canarian culture, with a Canarian gargote, craft stores, typical shows and a permanent exhibition of handicrafts, birds and flowers. Every Sunday at 12 p.m., you can enjoy folk dances and songs, as well as discover the local gastronomy with local wines and cheeses.
