LA BELLE MEUNIÈRE
Charming address in Royat serving a cuisine steeped in Auvergne's terroir and Asian influences.
To match the charm of this house and Laurent Jury's gourmet cuisine, the four rooms are carefully decorated in a rather romantic style. Each room has its own theme, and celebrates a historical figure from Auvergne. You'll be hard-pressed to choose between the 1930 Coco Chanel room, with its jazzy chic pearlescent style, the Georges Pompidou junior suite with its contemporary artistic decor in violet hues, or the small Alexandre Varenne suite (founder of the newspaper La Montagne), with its modernity and furniture that looks as if it has been brought back from his post as Governor of Indochina... But perhaps you'd prefer to plunge into the passionate red of the Amants de Royat apartment, with its gallant furnishings and late 19th-century-style taps? Perfect for a romantic night! On the culinary front, after honing his skills at the famous La Bergerie de Sarpoil restaurant, Laurent Jury now heads up the kitchen at La Belle Meunière. His dishes express the ambivalence of his cuisine, imbued with Auvergne terroir and Asian influences. A charming place to try!
